Join the Response Team
Volunteer with DOROT’s Response Team to support and connect with older adults in a variety of ways and on a schedule that works best for you. Whether it’s running errands or going shopping, assisting with small tasks or projects, providing companionship on an outing, or more, your short-term interaction will make a big difference.
How it Works:
- Sign up for volunteer orientation and brief onboarding process.
- Once you become a Response Team volunteer, you’ll create an account on our volunteer platform and get notified when new requests are posted.
- You’ll review requests and sign up for the ones that meet your interests and schedule. Requests may be for one-time or multiple sessions (up to weekly for 3 months).
Typical Volunteer Opportunities
- Walking in the neighborhood
- Organizing paperwork or mail
- Playing cards or board games
- Accompanying an older adult for a visit to a museum or other outing
