Volunteer for Package Delivery

Our seasonal Package Delivery program brings together hundreds of older adults and volunteers for social visits and meaningful connections that have a lasting impact.

Location: DOROT (Manhattan) DOROT (Westchester) In Home In the Community

Age Group: Adults 18+ Families

Package Delivery brings older adults and volunteers together to share warmth and companionship.
One-Time Recurring

Share warmth and spark a new connection

As a Package Delivery volunteer, you can build a meaningful connection with an older adult through a social visit or phone call and the delivery of a seasonal care package. While holidays can bring an increase in loneliness or isolation, Package Delivery creates shared connections and community.

The program is called Package Delivery, but we like to say that it’s really “not about the package.” It’s about the connections you make—for volunteers and package recipients alike.

Package Delivery takes place five times a year—for Winter, Passover, Summer, Rosh Hashanah, and Thanksgiving. You can volunteer on the Upper East and West Sides of Manhattan, or in Westchester. Learn more about Package Delivery

3. Deliver the package and either stay for a friendly conversation or make a phone call later to connect.

I really enjoyed meeting with Fred. He told me amazing stories, and I felt really fulfilled after I left. Fred couldn’t say enough nice things about DOROT. I’m very glad I did it.
