DOROT Achieves National Accreditation in Strategic Volunteer Engagement

We are excited to share that DOROT has achieved national accreditation in strategic volunteer engagement by AL!VE (Service Enterprise Program.)

Achieving Service Enterprise accreditation is a prestigious accomplishment. In fact, we have joined the top 11 percent of nonprofits nationwide in volunteer management and organizational performance. Accreditation signifies that we have the capability and management expertise to strategically engage community members and volunteers to improve the performance of our organization and meet community needs.

“Since 2015, the Service Enterprise Certification process has been instrumental for DOROT, offering a unique chance to benchmark our volunteer management and effectiveness on a national scale. It’s not just about validation; it’s about continuous improvement and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the non-profit service sector nationwide. DOROT proudly displays our Service Enterprise Certification badge on our website, it’s a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in service delivery and to continue to set the standard in volunteer management and community impact.” Judith Turner, Senior Program Officer.

DOROT could not fulfill its mission of addressing social isolation without volunteers. Each year, more than 7,000 volunteers, ages 8-90+, visit older adult participants in their homes and connect over the phone, forming lasting friendships.

“DOROT was one of the region's first service enterprises as volunteers in recognition of the fact that volunteer power is the driving force behind many agency programs. The training, connections, and recognition that we have tapped as a service enterprise have enhanced our capacity and creativity. This ultimately has led to new opportunities for volunteers to become enriched through service and higher quality offerings for older adult participants.” Laura Colin Klein, Director Volunteer Services.
