DOROT offers in-home programs for those who are frail or homebound, or who find it difficult to get out. These activities and services are designed for older adults, ranging in age from 60-100, living in Manhattan from 59th to 125th Streets on the West Side and from 14th to 96th Streets on the East Side. We also serve Westchester County.
While our headquarters on Manhattan’s Upper West Side is temporarily closed during COVID-19, DOROT’s Onsite@Home brings the same vibrant, interactive, and life-enhancing programs that you’ve enjoyed on-site at DOROT - right to your home via Zoom videoconferencing or telephone.
Out and About
DOROT helps older adults age 60+ get out of their homes and around town. We provide friendly companionship and, for those in need, assistance with mobility. Seniors value the company and support of volunteers during cultural outings and annual cemetery visits. They rely on our professional Door to Door Travel Companions to escort them to essential appointments.
DOROT’s programs in Westchester County create connections among older adults age 60+, a community of volunteers of all ages, and our dedicated staff. Whether enjoying our holiday package deliveries or spending time in conversation or playing games, DOROT has a long history of bringing the generations together in meaningful ways in Westchester.
DOROT’s deep roots in the community ensure our effectiveness. We extend our expertise, our services and our intergenerational programs to more people through our mutually beneficial collaborations with local synagogues, schools, community-based organizations and the larger caring community.
