Friendly Visiting has been a core program of DOROT since our inception nearly 50 years ago. It continues to be one of our most impactful programs for older adults seeking to make new friends and enjoy engaging activities in their home.
In recognition of the importance of this opportunity to match older adults and volunteers to address social isolation, DOROT developed, in partnership with the Association on Aging in New York, a series of three videos on the basics of a friendly visiting program, as well as additional instructions and insights on logistics of launching and managing a friendly visiting program.
