Bar and Bat Mitzvah Engagement

To make this milestone even more meaningful, you can help repair the world by creating invaluable connections across the generations. Youth can volunteer as individuals or with their families.

Join us as a B-Mitzvah volunteer with individual opportunities or as part of a cohort in our Intergenerational B-Mitzvah Experience.

DOROT's B-Mitzvah Cohort Experience:

  • Be part of a cohort of 10 - 16 pre-B-Mitzvah youth and 6 - 8 older adults for dynamic discussions and activities that explore Jewish ideas and traditions.
  • Create long term connections through bi-weekly intergen workshops to build relationships with peers and mutually enriching friendships across generations, all while making a positive impact on our community.
  • The program’s six sessions will include meaningful opportunities to share life experiences and intergenerational activities such as a visit to the Eldridge Street Synagogue, holiday card making and interactive workshops.
  • Upon completion, your child will receive a special certificate and share a group celebration at DOROT with their families.
