Meet the College Intern: Alexandra Aghedo

For this week's Summer College Intern Digital Takeover, we're hearing from Alexandra Aghedo, a rising senior at Hunter College, who is interning with DOROT's Kosher Meals at Home program.

Read below for Alexandra’s reflections on her internship experience so far:

"During my internship with the Kosher Meals at Home Department, I've had the opportunity to take calls from older adults, make weekly visits, and even accompany an older adult on a visit to their loved ones' cemetery. It's incredibly fulfilling to offer support, whether it's simply being there to listen or engaging in meaningful conversations.

During my first week of taking meal orders, I was nervous, but the older adults were so encouraging and thanked me for interning. They showed a lot of grace and understanding. Throughout my time so far, I have learned more about the field of social work, including how to communicate effectively and be patient.

Overall, it's been a great experience, and I'm excited to see what the rest of this internship has in store for my connection with older adults!"
