Navigating Aging Alone

As the Navigating Aging columnist for Kaiser Health News journalist Judith Graham wrote about issues associated with aging and end-of-life care. This past year she trained her eye on solo agers, writing a series of 8 articles on their experience. She will share what she learned in conversation with people from all over the country.

Building Connections Through Third Places

The third place is an informal yet essential space outside of home and work – like the Cheers bar – where people gather to foster relationships and strengthen community ties. Psychologist Jackson Rainer will explore the role of third places, how to find one, and how to build meaningful connections.

How to Create a ‘Go Plan’ in Case of a Medical Emergency

Ailene Gerhardt, Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) will discuss how to prepare, organize, and think ahead to make sure your “go plan" is in place should an emergency arise.
