LGBTQ+ Programs

Thanks to an ongoing grant from the UJA-Federation of New York, DOROT is now offering robust programming specific to LGBTQ+ older adults. The grant provides for a range of thoughtful and substantive programming, including intergenerational workshops and events that connect LGBTQ+ older adults with high school age students and that opportunity for belonging, visibility, and socialization.

Programs funded include:

GROUP PROGRAMS, offered remotely, in-person, and hybrid, that will celebrate LGBTQ+ community diversity through cultural programs; and provide community education sessions covering topics such as transgender identity, pronoun use, and advocacy.

Featured Group Program: GrandLove Grandparents Group

Join our inclusive space to share openly, get & give support, and gather information you need. Explore how best to nurture your needs while being there for your transgender grandchild. All grandparents, including grand aunts and uncles, are welcome, regardless of their grandchild's journey duration. This is a limited series with limited space.
